Noies String Quartet
In 2023, Noies Quartet brought four women together for their passion of playing String Quartet. Since then, they have been creating their own character as a group and developing their repertoire, thanks to the guidance of NSKA. They have attended masterclasses by Marc Danel and Gilles Millet (Quatuor Danel), Simone Gramaglia (Quartetto Di Cremona), Lukas Hagen (Hagen Quartet) and Luc-Marie Aguera(Quator Ysaye).
Among their performances, a highlight was to perform in the String Quartet Biënnale Amsterdam 2024 for the opening concert of the Belcea Quartet. In 2025 they performed at Trame Sonore Festival in Mantova, Italy, with the premiere of their performance, Frantumi.
Coming from Italy, the Netherlands, Korea and Spain, Noies is currently based in between the Netherlands and Belgium.

Irene Piazza is an Italian violinist based in the Netherlands. A graduate of the Conservatory of Amsterdam in the class of Vera Beths and a former member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, Irene has recently won a position as first violin tutti in the Residentie Orkest in The Hague. Also passionate chamber musician, she is currently first violin of Noies String Quartet and member of Orchestra da Camera di Mantova. In 2023, she recorded the debut album of WORDS, experimental ensemble led by Matteo Paggi. Irene plays a violin by L. Houniet and an L. H. Gillet bow, both courtesy of the Dutch Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds.

Violinist Cecilia van Berkum graduated with distinction from her Master’s degree in 2025 in the class of Prof. Carolin Widmann at the Hochschule für Musik in Leipzig. She also completed a Master’s degree with a specialisation in Chamber Music at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Ilona Sie Dhian Ho and attended masterclasses with members of the Jerusalem Quartet, Quatuor Danel, Cuarteto Casals, Artemis Quartet, as well as part of the European Chamber Music Academy. She has performed with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Mahler Academy Orchestra, and as concertmaster of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra. She plays a violin by Paul Bailly (1893).

Viola
Korean violist Jieun Kim began her musical education in 2013, studying under Sungeun Kim at Sookmyung Women's University in Seoul, South Korea. She later moved to the Netherlands to pursue her Master’s degree and chamber music studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where she studied with Ásdís Valdimarsdottir and Timur Yakubov, graduating in 2021.
As a soloist, Jieun is a first prize winner of the Sejong University Competition, as well as the grand prize winner of the Universal Music Competition. She is also an active chamber and orchestral musician. Jieun has performed as principal viola with the Sookmyung Philharmonic Orchestra and the Speranza Chamber Orchestra. She was also invited by Indiana University in the United States to perform in their concert series as a guest member of the “Quartet On.”
Since moving to the Netherlands, Jieun has performed in a wide range of festivals, ensembles, and concert halls. Her engagements include performances with the Residentie Orkest, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, New European Ensemble, Asko|Schönberg, Het Promenade Orkest, Gaudeamus Festival, Skazka Quartet, and De Doelen Ensemble.
She is currently a member of ARCO ensemble and Het Haarlems Pianokwartet, and works as a tutti violist with the Residentie Orkest. -
Cello
Coming from a musical background in Spain, Mar graduated in Queen Sofia School of Music in Madrid under the tuition of Jens Peter Maintz and Fernando Arias. She then completed a master degree in the Norwegian Academy of Music of Oslo with Torleif Thedéen. Together with her interest in baroque cello, she later on got engaged into orchestra playing as an academist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 2023 she is a member of Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and persues her chamber music passion together with Noies String Quartet and ensemble JUGLAR.
